Beschreibung:

IKO (1980 – 1989), Hot Wax (1989-2002), Tom Constanten & His Able-Bodied Posse (2003 – 2009), The Hydrophonics (2009 – present) Ken Foust (53 years)…

Description:

Ken Foust grew up in North Carolina (NC). To come of age in the 1970’s in NC was a challenge in it’s own right. Music for Ken as a teen meant “LOUD CRAZY ROCK!”

Music took hold of his life in the 1970’s. His first forays in live performance was as a guitarist, touring NC with the high school choir & musical troupe in fall of 1979.

In 1980, two events in particular changed his life drastically:

1 - He studied classical guitar and,

2 - He saw The Grateful Dead! (11/30/1980 @ The Fox Theatre, Atlanta/Georgia)

These two musical experiences changed Ken's life in powerful ways. Music took on a new meaning.

For five years, from 1980 to 1985, he lived in the mountains of western NC. “Old Time” and “Bluegrass” were the main music from this area. The bluegrass styles can be heard all through this latest album, “Ken Foust”.

In 2002, his brother Steve Foust introduced him to Tom Constanten (TC), former keyboardist of GREATFUL DEAD.  Ken began piano lessons under Tom’s tutelage in that year. Toward the end of 2003, Steve hired TC, & he hired Ken, for a concert for Steve’s birthday. Steve placed TC & Ken on stage together & the musical pairing worked well as a unit.

“Moved To Stanleyville” by Tom Constanten & Ken Foust was released 3 years later, both independently in the US and through a partnership with Sireena Records in Germany for European Distribution. TC & Ken are still working together musically as of this writing. He gives great weight to Tom’s decades of musical work and instruction, as well as his innate musical genius for the incredible good fortune in which I find myself today, musically and in life.

Here is a list of bands Ken Foust helped found & performed with:

IKO (1980 – 1989), Hot Wax (1989-2002), Tom Constanten & His Able-Bodied Posse (2003 – 2009), The Hydrophonics (2009 – present) Ken Foust (53 years)…

These were the groups he traveled and performed with through the ensuing years.

This latest release, the eponymously titled “Ken Foust”, is a collection of original compositions which span from 1984 until June 2014. The style of music on this album could be described as: Carolina Americana. This effort took six months of steady work at a beautiful country music studio headed up by Jamie Hoover, who co-produced the album with Ken. Jamie also recorded & co-produced “Moved To Stanleyville”. This is a worthwhile album for you to acquire and to add to your music collection!!!! Purchase “Ken Foust” today.
