NAUTILUS "When Time Is Just A Word" (CD)

Auch auf ihrem zwischenzeitlich 8. Studioalbum wandern die Mannen von NAUTILUS rund zwei Jahre nach ihrem großartigen Album „A Floating City“ wiederum auf den Spuren des französischen Fantasie-Autoren Jules Verne zu den Schauplätzen seines Romans „In 80 Tagen um die Welt“. Den Hörer erwartet eine akustische Weltreise zwischen Progressive Rock, Artrock und Berliner Schule. Liebhaber epischer Longtracks kommen dabei genauso auf ihre Kosten wie Freunde kurzer und knackiger Popsongs. Erneut gelingt dabei die Symbiose ihrer Einflüsse aus den 70ern (Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream) zu ihrem unverwechselbaren eigenen Stil.
Für den guten Ton sorgte erneut Grobschnitt-Mitbegründer und Mastering-Experte EROC.
Nautilus wurde 1998 zunächst als Elektronik-Duo von Martin Ludwig und Ralf Obel
ins Leben gerufen. Von Beginn an standen ihnen der aus der Blues-Szene stammende
Gitarrist Werner Strätz und Grobschnitt-Mitbegründer Eroc zur Seite. Letzterer war es
auch, der das Titelstück zur Debut-CD "Rising Balloon" im Woodhouse-Studio produzierte und dazu auch einen musikalischen Beitrag leistete.
Mit dem dritten Album "Solar Moon" etablierte sich Gitarrist Strätz als festes Mitglied
bei Nautilus. Nachdem die CD bei den von Radio-Legende Winfried Trenkler durchgeführten "Schwingungen-Wahlen" 2000 zum "besten Album des Jahres" gekürt wurde, nahm das Prudence-Label von bsc Music die Band unter Vertrag, veröffentlichte zunächst das Re-Release von "Solar Moon" und in der Folge drei weitere Nautilus-Alben.
Nach dem Ausstieg von Sampling-Spezialist Ralf Obel 2003 veränderte sich das musikalische Konzept hinsichtlich verstärkter progressiver und akustischer Elemente. So konnten Nautilus insbesondere mit "In Search Of Castaways" (2004) einen Achtungserfolg in der Prog-Rock-Szene landen.
Mit dem neuen Keyboarder Jürgen Dürrbeck spielten Nautilus 2008 das Album "Along the Winding Road" ein.
Von Beginn an konzipierten Nautilus ihre Alben in Anlehnung an große Romane des französischen Visionärs Jules Verne.
On their 8th studio album, the men from NAUTILUS are once again following in the footsteps of the French
fantasy author Jules Verne, around two years after their great album “A Floating City”, to the locations of his novel
“Around the World in 80 Days”. The listener can expect an acoustic world tour between progressive rock, art rock and
Berlin school. Lovers of epic long tracks will get their money's worth as will fans of short and crisp pop songs.
Once again, the symbiosis of their influences from the 70s (Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream) succeeds
in creating their own unmistakable style.
Grobschnitt co-founder and mastering expert EROC once again ensured the good sound.
Nautilus was founded in 1998 as an electronics duo by Martin Ludwig and Ralf Obel, later Guitarist Werner Strätz and ex-GROBSCHNITT member entered the project. It was Eroc, who produced the title track for the debut CD "Rising Balloon" in the Woodhouse studio and also made a musical contribution. With the third album "Solar Moon" guitarist Strätz became a permanent member of Nautilus. After the CD was voted "best album of the year" by radio legend Winfried Trenkler in 2000, the bsc Music Prudence label signed the band and initially published the re-release of "Solar Moon "and subsequently three other Nautilus albums. After the sampling specialist Ralf Obel stepped down in 2003, the musical concept changed with regard to increased progressive and acoustic elements. With "In Search Of Castaways" (2004), Nautilus was particularly successful in the prog rock scene. In 2008, Nautilus recorded the album "Along the Winding Road" with the new keyboardist Jürgen Dürrbeck.
From the beginning, Nautilus wrote their albums based on great novels by the French visionary Jules Verne. With the new album "The Mystery Of Waterfalls", now released after a twelve-year break, the listener accompanies Captain Nemo on his "20,000 miles under the seas" . Musically, newcomer Meiko Richert as a singer in the elegiac longtrack "Point Of Return" adds a new element to the previously purely instrumental concept. Also new are the sometimes escalating twin guitar licks like in "Snowstorm On The Sea". Furthermore, Mellotron choirs like in "Mobilis in Mobile", sparkling sequences, but also melodic guitar pieces like "Summertime" exude a lot of 70s flair and yet sound contemporary or timeless. The musical influences such as Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield or Wishbone Ash weave Nautilus into an unmistakable style of their own.

In ihrer Glanzzeit in den Achtzigern gehörten The Multicoloured Shades zur Speerspitze des deutschen Neo-Psychedelic Rock, die es nicht nur quer durch die Bundesrepublik bis Österreich und die Schweiz sondern gar über den Kanal nach Great Britain verschlug, wo ihr druckvoller staubiger Garagensound große Wellen schlug! Besonders der inzwischen verstorbene Frontmann und Sänger der Band Pete Barany, stieß auf großes mediales Interesse.Auch heutzutage, rund 40 Jahre später, rotieren die Knaller in den einschlägigen Underground Discos oder tauchen in den Playlists vieler Radiosender auf.
Sprung ins Hier und Jetzt! Auf manche Dinge muss man warten. Manche brauchen zusätzlich auch noch ein kleines Wunder.
Das Wunder ist die Begegnung mit Christian Müller, einem Sänger und Fan der "alten" Shades. Er reaktiviert mit seinem Einsatz die Band, die sonst weiter geschwiegen hätte. Seit 2021 ist er die neue Stimme der Multicolored Shades.
Über 20 Jahre nach der Tragik des Jahres 1999 präsentieren die Shades der Öffentlichkeit 10 neue Songs. Aufgenommen unter rudimentären Bedingungen, mit der Intention eine Band zu zeigen die, obwohl 40 Jahre gereift, wieder am Anfang steht.
Die Texte sind etwas „heller“ geworden, handeln von Liebe, Verlust und dem Hoffen auf Veränderung. „Wave“, ein Lied gegen Hass und Ignoranz, zeigt eine weitere Richtung auf. „Lost“ beschreibt den Wahnsinn von Media overload und den Verlust von Wahrheit in Zeiten der Lügen. We could go on…
Drei sind dabei. Zwei sind neu.

Der Titel der CD ist ein Augenzwinkern auf das was noch kommt…

In their heyday in the eighties, The Multicolored Shades were at the forefront of German neo-psychedelic rock scene, which not only made it across the Federal Republic of Germany to Austria and Switzerland but even across the Channel to Great Britain, where their powerful, dusty garage sound made big waves ! The band's now deceased frontman and singer Pete Barany in particular attracted great media interest. Even today, around 40 years later, the bangers rotate in the relevant underground discos or appear in the playlists of many radio stations. Jump into the here and now! Some things you have to wait for. Some also need a little miracle. The miracle is the encounter with Christian Müller, a singer and fan of the "old" Shades. With his efforts, he reactivates the band, which would otherwise have remained silent. Since 2021 he has been the new voice of the Multicolored Shades. Over 20 years after the tragedy of 1999, the Shades present 10 new songs to the public. TOM REDECKER "GULLSWEAT - Poems & Songs" (BOOK)

Im Juni 2022 erschien Tom Redeckers Buch „THE ELECTRIC KINDERGARTEN – Poems & Songs“ im Verlag Moloko + . Auf 190 Seiten präsentierte er Gedanken, Gedichte und Songtexte aus über 30 Musikerjahren und ergänzte den Band durch eine CD mit ausgewählten Titeln.
Das Buch erfreute sich sehr schnell großer Beliebtheit, da lag es nahe über eine Fortsetzung nachzudenken. Diese liegt nun vor! „GULL SWEAT – Poems & Songs“, wiederum bei Moloko + erschienen folgt demselben Pfad wie sein Vorgänger. Die Texte versammeln sich in fünf Kapiteln und werden von Polaroids begleitet und untermalt. Auch dieses Mal ist der Erstauflage eine CD mit Titeln aus dem musikalischen Oeuvre Redeckers beigefügt.

TOM “THE PERC” REDECKER gilt seit vier Jahrzehnten als vielseitiger und umtriebiger Vertreter der deutschen Independent-Musikszene. So startete er seine musikalischen Aktivitäten mit dem Projekt KÜHE IM NEBEL, gefolgt von der gemeinsam mit EMILIO WINSCHETTI (MYTHEN IN TÜTEN) 1987 ins Leben gerufenen Duo-Formation THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN mit der er (inter-) nationale Bekanntheit und Kultstatus erlangte. Mitte der neunziger Jahre war er Mitbegründer der Allstar-Formation THE ELECTRIC FAMILY, die sich besetzungstechnisch aus Musikern von Bands wie DIE ÄRZTE, PHILLIP BOAS VOODOOCLUB, AGITATION FREE, GROBSCHNITT, LOLITAS und THIRSTY MOON zusammensetzt(e). Weitere Projekte des zudem als Musikproduzent sowie als Labelbetreiber (SIREENA RECORDS) aktiven Multitalents waren zudem TARAS BULBA (zusammen mit VOLKER KAHRS / GROBSCHNITT) und SUN TEMPLE CIRCUS, wobei er sich darüber hinaus in unregelmäßigen Abständen zudem seinen solistischen Aktivitäten widmet.
In June 2022, Tom Redecker's book “THE ELECTRIC KINDERGARTEN – Poems & Songs” was published by Moloko +.
On 190 pages he presented thoughts, poems and song lyrics from over 30 years as a musician and supplemented the volume with a CD with
selected titles.The book quickly beca me very popular, so it made sense to think about a sequel. This is now available! “GULL SWEAT – Poems & Songs”
, again published by Moloko +, follows the same path as its predecessor. The texts are collected in five chapters and are accompanied and accompanied

TOM “THE PERC” REDECKER has been considered a versatile and busy representative of the German independent music scene for four decades.
He started his musical activities with the KÜHE IM NEBEL project, followed by the duo formation THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN,
founded together with EMILIO WINSCHETTI (MYTHS IN BAG) in 1987, with which he achieved (inter)national fame and cult status . In the mid-nineties
he was a co-founder of the all-star formation THE ELECTRIC FAMILY, which consisted of musicians from bands such as DIE ÄRZTE, PHILLIP BOAS
VOODOOCLUB, AGITATION FREE, GROBSCHNITT, LOLITAS and THIRSTY MOON. Other projects by the all-rounder, who is also active as a
music producer and as a label operator (SIREENA RECORDS), included TARAS BULBA (together with VOLKER KAHRS / GROBSCHNITT) and

Eine Sensation! Dieses Album erschien 1988 nur in einer limitierten Privatpressung (Vinyl) von 300 Stück!
Nun erscheint dieses heiß gefragte Sammlerstück erstmals offiziell. Die damalige Besetzung mit Peter Panka (Drums, vocals), Werner Nadolny (keyboards), Klaus Walz (guitar)und Stephanie Shea (bass, vocals) hatte sich für den Auftritt im Capitol in Hannover ordentlich verstärkt. Ur-Mitglied Charly Maucher (bass, vocals) war dabei, ausserdem Dete Kuhlmann (percussion, vocals), und für den Hintergrundgesang sorgten Anca Graterol, Martina Maschke und Petra Steffens. Großartig auch der Gastauftritt von Thomas Kretschmar, später als Carola Kretschmar Ausnahmegitarristin im Panikorchester! Diese großartige Besetzung führte das begeisterte Publikum durch einen kurzweiligen Konzertabend mit vielen Klassikern aus der JANE-Geschichte. Ein unverzichtbares Krautrock-Dokument!

Now this highly sought-after collector's item is officially appearing for the first time. The line-up at the time with

strengthened properly for the appearance at the Capitol in Hanover. Original member Charly Maucher (bass, vocals) was there
, as was Dete Kuhlmann (percussion, vocals), and background vocals were provided by Anca Graterol, Martina Maschke and
Petra Steffens. The guest appearance by Thomas Kretschmar, later an exceptional guitarist in the Panikorchester as
Carola Kretschmar, was also great! This great cast led the enthusiastic audience through an entertaining concert evening

Andreas Buchwald, Gitarrist, Songwriter und musikalischer Kopf der Post-Punk- und Dark-Wave-Band REMAIN IN SILENCE, hat mit ESCAPE FROM WHAT LIFE IS sein erstes Solowerk vorgelegt.
ESCAPE FROM WHAT LIFE IS ist ein facettenreiches, dunkel schillerndes Album von außergewöhnlicher Intensität und nahezu visueller Kraft. Cinematic Post-Wave - so könnte man diesen Musikstil wohl am zutreffendsten bezeichnen.
Der Opener WHAT COLOUR HAS YOUR PAIN? verweist musikalisch auf elektronische New-Wave-Traditionen stellt die Weichen für eine Fahrt durch die Dämmerung. Das hypnotische RITUALS mit seinen an Voodoo-Klänge erinnernden Rhythmen zieht den Hörer weiter in die dunklen Tiefen des Albums, das in mit überraschenden und dramatisch inszenierten Wendungen aufwartet. Die bedrohlich wirkende Ruhe von DARK CLOUDS mündet in einem ethno-perkussiven Climax. Während das minimal-elektronisch beginnende NIGHTBIRD eine Spannung aufbaut, die sich am Ende orchestral kathartisch entlädt.
Das Instrumental CORRIDOR mündet in das beklemmende ARTIFACTS. Sie sind wieder da! Rund 30 Jahren nach dem letzten Studioalbum „Ages“ nun die große Überraschung! Tom „The Perc“ Redecker und Emilio „The Hidden Gentleman“ Winschetti alias THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN präsentieren mit „Les Variations Sonnenuhr“ ein neues Studioalbum. So ganz weg waren die beiden ja nie in den vergangenen drei Dekaden Immer wieder erscheinen Singles, Compilations und zahlreiche Samplerbeiträge von THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN. Das Comeback-Album der Krautrocklegende JANE von 1986 auf CD im Digipak mit bisher unveröffentlichtem Bonustitel!
Sie zählen zweifelsfrei zu den legendärsten Bands des Krautrock! 1965 entstand die Band Justice of Peace, die als The J.P.’s eine Single veröffentlichte und sich 1968 auflöste. Zur letzten Formation stieß Werner Nadolny (Keyboard, Flöte) hinzu. Fortan verwendete die Band mit den Musikern Klaus Hess (Gitarre), Peter Panka (Schlagzeug, Gesang), Werner Nadolny und Charly Maucher (Bass und Gesang) den Namen JANE. Der erste Auftritt fand am 5. Dezember 1970 in Hannover statt. Anfang des Jahres 1971 kam der Sänger Bernd Pulst zur Band. Für die folgenden Veröffentlichungen wirkte Günter Körber als Produzent und verschaffte der Band einen Plattenvertrag auf dem von ihm mitgegründeten Label Brain. Das erste Album “Together” erschien 1972. Ohne Pulst erschienen dann die weiteren Alben der Band. Ende der Siebzigerjahre zählte JANE dann zu den erfolgreichsten Bands ihres Genres. Der ständige Personalwechsel machte der Band Anfang der Achtzigerjahre endgültig zu Schaffen, und nach dem Album “Germania” 1982 endete auch der Vertrag mit Brain.
Nach weiteren Querelen wechselte JANE 1984 erneut die Besetzung, neben Peter Panka und Werner Nadolny spielten nun Kai Reuter- Gitarre (ex Viva ) und Bernd Kolbe-Bass ( ex Epitaph ), kurze Zeit später auch noch Klaus Henatsch- Keyboards, Gesang (ex Jutta Weinhold). JANE versuchte in einem der Zeit angepassten Soundgewand an alte erfolgreiche Zeiten anzuknüpfen, neue Songs wurden komponiert und im eigenen Jane-Studio aufgenommen. Es war dann wieder Günther Körber, der die Band 14 Jahre zuvor bereits für Brain unter Vertrag genommen hatte, der JANE auf seinem eigenen Sky Label die Möglichkeit gab, ein neues Studioalbum aufzunehmen. Die LP "Beautiful Lady" kam 1986 ohne Bernd Kolbe bei Sky Records von Günther Körber heraus. "Insgesamt ein Album, das mehr als eine Drehung verdient" vermerkte damals das Magazin Musikscene. Rock – Pop – Sound der 80er Jahre, interessant und vollkommen anders als alle bisherigen Jane-Alben. Für die Jane-Fans unerlässlich! Als Bonustitel hat Sireena einen bisher unveröffentlichten Titel hinzugefügt, der 1986 während der “Beautiful Lady” Tour im Sinkkasten in Frankfurt aufgenommen wurde.

They are without a doubt one of the most legendary bands in Krautrock! In 1965 the band Justice of Peace was formed, which released a single as The J.P.'s and broke up in 1968. Werner Nadolny (keyboard, flute) joined the last formation. Dies ist bereits das zweite Album des Schweizer Projekts Yonder Pond, nachdem die erste Produktion (Pondering Aloud, 2017) durchwegs überaus wohlwollend aufgenommen wurde.
Geprägt wurde Mastermind Remy Sträuli von der Plattensammlung des Elternhauses (Hippiekram) und der Freude an fantasievoller Musik. Dies kann sich in abenteuerlichen Akkordfolgen (Genesis, Pat Metheny), spinnerten Ideen (Gong, Syd Barrett) oder farbiger Melodik (Beatles, XTC) manifestieren. Dies zusammen mit einer ordentlichen Dosis vorwärts treibender Rhythmik – des Interpreten angestammten Berufs «Schlagzeuger» geschuldet.
Weiter bedient Sträuli sämtliche Keyboards und übernimmt den Leadgesang. Dies führt zu einer Dreiteilung besagter Person: Remily Layne (drums), Emyr Taurelis (voc) und Rembrandt Van Der Straal (keyboards). Manager Remstein hat sich dazu entschieden die Tripletisierung des Interpreten mit der neuen Produktion transparent zu kommunizieren, da die Geheimniskrämerei um die erste LP zuviel Verwirrung gestiftet hat. Bei den Aufnahmen wurden die drei, also er, von grossartigen Musikanten, teils Bandkollegen aus gemeinsamen Projekten (Fido plays Zappa, Spaltklang), unterstützt: die Saitenfraktion der Universe By Ear (Stefan Strittmatter, Pascal Grünenfelder), die brillante Musikerin Ines Brodbeck (violin, Inezona) und Markus Stauss (flute), dem RIO- und Avantgardekönig Basels.
Die zweite CD heisst «Mole In My Shoe» (ein kleiner Gruss an Traffic), und beinhaltet sieben Songs unterschiedlicher Dauer (von Pop bis Prog), gesamthaft in der (nach Yonder Ponds Meinung idealen) Laufzeit einer normalen LP aus den guten alten Zeiten.
Die sieben Songs sind melodieselig, pompös, schräg, komplex, schunklig, bös und lieb. Aber wieder kein Hit, wie Mama selig sagen würde. Oder doch? Checkt mal «Waiting For A Daughter Of Wealthy Origin» aus. That’s the Single, man. Ausserdem sorgen diverse Instrumente für ein akustisches Hörerlebnis: Violine, Oboe, Mellotron, Moog, und - finally – das Cembalo!
Vielleicht erinnert sich noch jemand an die Band Yolk (die schweizerischen). Da ist ja der Remy auch noch. Des Bassisten Beats Tochter Leonor Burkhard ist eine enorm talentierte Künstlerin und hat das schöne Cover gestaltet, Maulwurf im flugfähigen Schuh. Entschieden knorke!
